Candidates should be 18 years of age at the time of application, for below 18 years old candidates, the application can be completed on their behalf by their parent or guardian having Canadian Citizenship. The person should have lived for more than 3 years in Canada. Proficiency in English or French as these are the two official languages. An Express Entry candidate can obtain up to 1,200 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System, which are distributed across several factors. A candidate’s age, education, language proficiency and work experience known as a core human capital factor has a score out of 500. Combinations of some of these factors are called Skill Transferability factors and can be worth up to 100 additional points. These 600 points constitute what's known as a candidate’s core CRS score.
